About the format
What goes in an llms.txt file
The format is deliberately simple. It starts with your name as a title, followed by a one or two sentence summary in a quote. After that you can add any notes an assistant should know, then groups of links, each with a short description of what the page covers.
Keep it short and specific. Link to the pages you would want an assistant to read before describing you: what you sell, who it is for, pricing, comparisons, documentation and policies. Put anything less important in a section called Optional, which tools may skip when space is tight.
- Fill in your name, a summary and your most important pages.
- Check the preview, then download the file. It is always named llms.txt.
- Upload it so it opens at yourdomain.com/llms.txt.
- Update it when you add or remove important pages.
